This package provides academic training and certification credit only, allowing you to complete all theory online before booking your practical dives with any SSI Dive Centre. You can study at your own pace and schedule the in-water sessions whenever you’re ready, at a location that suits you. If you choose to complete your practical training with us, the amount you’ve already paid will be deducted from the full course price.

This package will give you access to SSI’s digital learning platform, which covers all required knowledge through videos, written modules, and interactive quizzes. The materials can be accessed on multiple devices, including mobile phones, laptops, and desktops.

What You’ll Learn Online:

The Try Scuba Diver eLearning introduces you to the fundamentals of breathing underwater and enjoying your first supervised experience in the pool or confined water. Through easy to follow digital lessons, you’ll learn the essential safety concepts and basic skills needed before getting in the water for your introductory session.

What the online theory covers:

• The basic physics of the underwater world - pressure, equalization, and how your body responds
• Essential scuba equipment: mask, snorkel, fins, exposure protection, BCD, regulator, and air supply
• How to breathe safely from a scuba regulator and maintain relaxed, controlled breathing
• Equalization techniques for ears and sinuses
• Basic communication underwater, including common hand signals
• Safe entry/exit practices and what to expect during your first confined water experience
• Understanding your role as a beginner diver and how to follow your instructor’s guidance
• The importance of environmental respect and responsible interaction with aquatic life

This eLearning ensures you arrive confident, comfortable, and ready to enjoy your first breaths underwater.

Please note: In-water sessions are not included with this eLearning product. They must be booked separately with us or any SSI Dive Centre offering these courses.

The academic training is the first step in your scuba journey, to begin your eLearning you'll need to create a free SSI account affiliated with our dive centre, so that you can access the learning platform/app. Please use this link  here  to create your SSI account. Once your SSI account is set up and you have paid for this product, we will release the course materials to you. You can then complete your digital self-study at your own pace and finish the theory modules before starting your practical sessions.
