What’s the React Right and Stress & Rescue Course?
This combined course is one of the most rewarding and confidence-building steps in your scuba journey.
You’ll learn how to manage emergencies, assist other divers, and keep yourself calm and in control in stressful situations.
React Right is SSI’s first aid and CPR training, and includes oxygen administration and AED use – essential skills for any serious diver.
Stress & Rescue teaches you how to spot, prevent, and respond to diving-related stress and rescue scenarios, both at the surface and underwater.
Together, they build your confidence, improve your safety awareness, and make you a stronger, more capable dive buddy.
What to Expect
React Right Training
You’ll complete online learning and classroom sessions covering primary assessment, CPR, first aid, oxygen administration, and AED use. This gives you the foundation to respond quickly and effectively in medical emergencies – in or out of the water.
Stress & Rescue Diver Training
This is where it all comes together. You’ll learn to recognise diver stress before it turns into an emergency, how to manage panicked divers, and how to perform real-world rescue skills both at the surface and underwater.
Expect to be challenged – but supported – through a range of realistic scenarios, building skill, confidence, and calm under pressure.
Who’s it for?
This course is for certified Open Water Divers aged 12 or over who are ready to take their skills and confidence to the next level.
It’s ideal if you’re planning to become a dive leader one day, want to look after your dive buddies, or just want to feel more prepared and self-reliant in the water.
These two courses together, usually take 2 pool sessions, 2 open water dives, and 2 classroom sessions. More may be needed, if you do not meet the requirements in one of the sessions, we will complete further sessions until you are ready.
How It Works
Once you have paid for this product, we will contact you to confirm your details and set you up with an SSI account affiliated with our dive centre. We will release the course academics to your SSI account so you can begin studying, and we will arrange your in-person diver training.
