What’s the Photo & Video Specialty Course?
This course teaches you how to dive confidently with an underwater camera and capture stunning images and videos of marine life. You’ll learn proper camera setup, handling, shooting techniques, buoyancy control, and basic editing – all in a safe, supportive learning environment.
It’s perfect for divers who want to document their adventures, improve technique, or share their underwater world in creative ways.
What to Expect
Digital Learning – Complete interactive SSI theory modules covering camera care, dive positioning, lighting, composition, and editing.
In-Water Photography Sessions – Over two open water dives (up to 30 m), you’ll learn to set up your camera, fine-tune buoyancy, frame shots, manage lighting, and capture high-quality images and video. Practice both stills and motion, with instructor guidance.
Who’s it for?
This course is open to divers aged 10 and up who already hold an SSI Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent).
Ideal for anyone interested in underwater photography or videography – from beginners wanting to snap better vacation shots to seasoned divers looking to refine their craft.
