This package provides academic training and certification credit only, allowing you to complete all theory online before booking your practical dives with any SSI Dive Centre. You can study at your own pace and schedule the in-water sessions whenever you’re ready, at a location that suits you. If you choose to complete your practical training with us, the amount you’ve already paid will be deducted from the full course price.

This package will give you access to SSI’s digital learning platform, which covers all required knowledge through videos, written modules, and interactive quizzes. The materials can be accessed on multiple devices, including mobile phones, laptops, and desktops.

What You’ll Learn Online:
The SSI Scuba Diver eLearning gives you the core theoretical knowledge needed to safely participate in supervised open-water dives down to 12 metres. Through interactive digital lessons, you’ll build confidence in the essential principles of scuba diving, preparing you for your confined-water training and limited open water sessions with an SSI Professional.

What the online theory covers:

• How pressure, buoyancy, volume, and density affect you and your equipment underwater
• The function and proper use of core scuba equipment, including BCD, regulator, gauges, and exposure protection
• Gas consumption basics, monitoring your gauge, and understanding your depth/time limits
• Foundational skills such as proper breathing techniques, equalization, and controlled ascents
• Weighting principles, buoyancy management, and body position for efficient, comfortable diving
• Buddy procedures, underwater communication, and situational awareness
• Understanding the dive environment - temperature, visibility, currents, and aquatic life interaction
• Safety skills and emergency response fundamentals, including sharing air and problem prevention

The academic training is the first step in your scuba journey, to begin your eLearning you'll need to create a free SSI account affiliated with our dive centre, so that you can access the learning platform/app. Please use this link  here  to create your SSI account. Once your SSI account is set up and you have paid for this product, we will release the course materials to you. You can then complete your digital self-study at your own pace and finish the theory modules before starting your practical sessions.
